Binary Large Object

The blob of the site headers, out of its band: a blurred patch of colour, a petrol-to-silver gradient title, and a test bench for its variants.

In computing, a BLOB (Binary Large Object) is a large lump of data that a database stores without trying to understand it. At the Lab, the blob is humbler: a soft, blurred patch of colour breathing behind the title of the section pages.

The first card shows the blob as it lives in the headers, with its classes and blend modes. The next ones are test benches: colours, motion, blend modes and isolation go through them before they reach the pages.
